The Claret Jug is without doubt the worlds most famous trophy in the game of golf. Tickets for the event are very sought after, as this year it looks as if a british pplayer could look to pick up the claret jug. Originally commissioned in 1873, this beautiful trophy is known officially as the Golf Champion Trophy. This first winner was Tom Morris, the 1872 champion, even though the trophy had not been completed when he won the event.

Ailsa course first hosted the Open in 1977, and this produced arguably the best Major championship final this was with Tom Watson when he beat Jack Nicklaus by one shot. Tickets for the event are varied in cost, with children under 16 being able to attend the open for free. Tickets for adults vary from £25 right through to £55, so there is an opportunity to get a range of tickets.
